i dont know on the other stuff--maybe you could post a youtube video and link it; then we could tell you if we see the same thing.

but the soft top rattle--yes its normal and no it shouldnt be; honda issued a TSB in 03. basically it says grease the crap out of it. i got my dealer to do it under warranty.

and i'd think your US warranty would still be valid if you drove the car down to the US, but that might not be worth it, depending on how far from the border you live.

I think most of us are a little over sensitive when it comes to the noises this car makes.
Nothing particularly wrong with that except our imagination begins to wander and then we believe we actually hear trouble brewing somewhere.
I think if you do as other have already recommended, (lube and tighten weather stripping and bolts) you've done just as much as most dealers would do for you if you took the car in for warranty work.
The advantage of the DIY is you get to keep these greasy mechs and techs out of your car and risk winding up with something you never counted on.
For many things we have no choice but for relatively minor squeeks and rattles, try to cure some of these ills yourself.
I hope you understand my POV, I'm not suggesting that you live with a truly obnoxious noise. If it's something that can't be cured by your own efforts, turn it in to the dealer and use your warranty.

so we all are in agreeance that the car is generally noisy

yes - thats fine and acceptable

however, what i AM concerned about is the spark sound that emanates from the engine. aside from i and original poster, anyone else hear that sound?

(let it be noted its been there for a long time now without adverse mechanical effects)

if you can, post a video or audio clip--written words cant communicate the sound very well, so its hard to confidently give any type of suggestion as to what it could be.
