heeheee... The S2K looks nothing like a rear of a Miata in any way! It does kinda look like the ass end of a Gran Am... a car that has always been styled like it should have 500 hp but has 50's technology.

I'll say this much, Boxsters are as common as horsefiles around here. I'm grateful as hell that I picked the S2000. It has the style and exclusivity of a Ferrari with the price of a (expensive) Honda.

Porche owners may be happy with their cars, but the Porche cache' is somewhat diluted when they are as common as VW Beetles.

I've had Porsche mentioned various times! But someone also said it looks like a Ferrari. The worst comment was "is that a Del Sol"?...Arrggghhh!! Miata has never been mentioned, but most people really "still" have no idea what kind of car we drive and are always guessing. I don't see many in the DFW area. Since I purchased my car in mid-May the only other yellow S2K I've seen was at an S2K meet.

I had a guy walk up to me at the gas station this morning. First he asked what kind of car it was. He then said its a very sexy car. I let him sit in it and check it out. Then he asked me what I paid for it and asked about the tranny. All of the sudden his wife appears from out of the gas station rushing him away from my car. She said to him you have a sports car, its this boat you are towing right now. Then she says its a very nice car and gets him away.

Anyone who is knowledgeable about cars at all will be able to tell an S2000 from a Porsche from a Miata. If someone hasn't a clue as to what your driving, how can they really appreciate it, and should you really care?

I'll never forget the woman in the oncoming Z3 flashing me in recognition as another Z3 owner, she looked puzzled as to how I got such an intense yellow one though...

my reply--> Thanks, but it's a Honda.

I hate it when people say that to me.

The reactions of different car owners is kinda funny. When the MRSpyder guys get their car mistaken for a Boxster, it makes their day! I've read about them just bragging about it so many times on their board. I guess they leave out the part where the person later thinks...oh..it's only a Toyota.

I've had the Porsche thing a few times.
Makes me surprised just how many people are unfamiliar with the car. Not that I mind of course
