Swapping your bulbs to led without swapping projectors to led specific projectors should yield worse output than your HIDs, or at the very least throw more light around blinding other drivers. The projectors are designed to match the bulb and how it outputs the light. Leds put out light differently than hids, so using them in your hid designed projectors would scatter them. They may appear brighter up close, but they won't focus as well down the road and to the sides as well as blinding other drivers (lose the clean cutoff that people want and the color flicker that ricers chase with their PnP HID kits). S2000 HIDs are considered some of the best available which is why used sets are still so expensive. People buy them to pull apart and use in retrofit projects. I'd recommend keeping your HIDs.

I had no intention of getting new lights but found old ones were bad. New oem bulbs, light assemblies and iginitors cost almost double of what i paid for whole car. 1800+ for complete factory set up. These lenses are projector.....not reflector.........at lesst by lable.
Yes, they are projectors, but there are still differences in led vs hid projectors. While the difference isn't as dramatic as sticking an hid bulb in a reflector bowl, a projector designed for hids will not perform as well if leds are installed. Imagine where the light from an HID comes from, an arc of electricity in a tube and how a projector lens focuses that light, then imagine an led diode or light with multiple diodes and that same projector lens trying to focus that light that's now coming from different points and angles that it wasn't designed for, you end up with some scatter, hot spots, etc. While it works, what I'm getting at is that it's no longer working as well as it could. OEM hid lights, especially s2k projectors are so expensive because the projector is so well designed. That adds to the premium you pay for oem parts. Not saying you're wrong for going that route because it's your car and money, I'm just saying if this guy is trying to get the most out of his lights, sticking leds in his OEM projectors is not the way to go. The only way I can think of that may improve his lights is to go back to a light rated somewhere around 4300-4500k if he's running anything else or look into getting some new bulbs, ballasts, etc. Hidplanet is a great resource for digging into lighting stuff. Those guys really do whatever they can to eek out the most out of lights and I'm sure they've done plenty of research on s2k projectors.
Both previous post are correct. If i had original undameged headlights i would use oem bulbs. That wasn't my case. What i ended up with works well. With that said a person does need to consider condition of original lenses and reflectors. While some are undamaged some are damaged and degrade light quite badly. If op is looking for best lighting solution oem bulbs are probably best option. Another thing to think about is age. Hid bulbs do degrade over time/useage. Could be a reason op feels hid is not bright/good.
The previous posts are accurate regarding LEDs in HID projectors in that it's unsafe and you'll blindnocokijg traffic. I also want to add that as having been part of the (somewhat nerdy) aftermarket HID projector retrofit forums, I can say say that the s2000 projector is literally considered the best HID projector of all time. I'm not kidding - click through this link to a major HID retrofit store and read their description of the s2000 projector
"ON TOP: THE best dedicated low beam projector ever made. For as long as it's been around, every time we light one up in the shop, to this day it amazes us how much it blows every other projector away."

Ive read they are some of the best. All on a 17 year old car/design. Ill pray to the great headlight gods as well as s2000 gods for forgiveness. Glad people are so pickey so we get parts when headlights and airbags total a car so we can all benifit from a plithera of used parts. J/k........all the same, ill keep my set up. Works good for me.
