Default High Miles?

Who here has the S with the highest mileage, and who can say they got there without anything other than the normal wear and tear maintenance and service bulletin fixes?

40K and counting only 1 TSB not driver threatening in any way and oil changes. Car drives like a champ day in day out, I think the biggest problem that I have had so far is that the button for the stereo on the side controls fell out, and it just clipped right back in.

Look for a thread that say's something along the lines of, did your car start today.

I don't think I've got the most mileage but 62000 miles is allready nice I think.

Hell NO, I never had a car before with so much problems such as

  • Replacing the windshield every 6 months
  • Engine running on 3 cylinders from time to time without finding a cause
  • Engine hesitating on acceleration sometimes (cause still unknown)
  • Spark plugs came loose
  • The rubber of the windshield frame had to be replaced
  • Some rubbers of the roof had to be replaced
  • Rear wheel clicking sound
  • At the moment the car is at the dealer to replace the CV joints

Aside from that The car spent some time away for service bulletin fixes such as
  • Replacing safety belts, OK that's not really a problem
  • Replacing the clutch (partly) for decelerating sound
  • Modifying oil bolts

But for the rest I encountered no problems

Greetings, Bart

I don't have the most miles either at 61,000. I bought it used but according to the service records, there were no problems prior to my purchase except for a windshield replacement(not sure if it was from pitting or rock damage). The seatbelt TSB was done long ago and I just had the clutch replaced at 59,000.

68,000 in less than 2 years. No problems, all the tsbs done, and I change all of my own fluids.

bArt2, What I meant was, who got their mileage dependably without much out-of-pocket expense. I talk to a lot of people who brag about their cars having 200,000 or 300,000 miles on them, but then find out they rebuilt the engine, that most of the parts are not original and they wrench on it every week to keep it running.
