Engine loosening up ?
Got rid of my o3' last month with 3500 miles and noticed that the engine had loosened what I felt was nicely after about 1200-1500 miles with no noticeable difference after that. Now I've got this common as muck RNBP GT I would like to pick your brains as to whether or not I have experienced this loosening up in full seeing I have only ever driven an S with above milage on? I appreciate it is an 04' but the engine is the same.

I can't comment on the S, but my Astra 2.0 and Rover 400 (with Honda K series) both loosened up significantly after around 20,000 miles. The feel after the 20,000 miles service was better than after the 10,000 mile services.

Must be patient.

Serious comment: Some say that the honda engines (Prelude experience) are so sound that full loosening occurs after about 50,000 miles. In the old days a club race engine would be taken for tweaking after 4-5,000 miles.
Flippant comment: Maybe this is why Rahula is doing the next owner a favour by ragging the demo from nought ??
That said my demo goes nowhere until I have driven it for 6-800 boring miles.
