High Miles - need a service...
Hi everyone
Got an 00 s2k and bought it with 24k on the clock 10 months ago. I have just hit 40k and am booking in for the 41500 mile service. When I picked the car up it had just had it's 4 yr service.
I am just wondering that as I have put loads more miles on than the guy who had it previously (he only averaged 6k per year or so), whether I should be expecting a big cost on the service...? Anyone out there doing loads of miles with any experience of wear and tear on things like breaks etc. I have already changed the two rear tires a few months ago...

What does your manual say needs to be done? Now may be a good time to learn how to change the brakes/oil/coolant/spark plugs/air filter/etc. You can usually get the rest done for less than 1/2 the normal fee.
Are you doing the service yourself or having someone else (like the dealer) do it?
If the dealer is doing it, then the mileage isn't going to matter because they have a set list of things that they do. They just go through the list and that's it.
If you're doing it yourself, then honestly the engine oil, transmission fluid, and clutch fluid should be all you really need to change.
I wouldn't worry about the mileage. Your mileage (both cumulative and over the last 10 months) is still well within reason.
EDIT:
Yup, forgot differential. Do the engine oil, transmission fluid, clutch fluid, and differential fluid and you'll be fine.
