Default A HIGH then a LOW ...

Unfortunately I do not have the time and tools to work on my car. So I took the car into the Honda dealer and paid an arm and a leg to get everything imaginable tuned up and new tires. After I got the car from the dealer maintenance department, I could tell that the engine sound was subtly better and my clutch was smoother and the ride was much better with the new Michelin pilot super sport tires.

My wife and I ate lunch at a tasty Mexican shack of a restaurant. Of course I was staring at my car all through lunch since we are sitting outside.

after lunch, she drove off in her car and I pulled out of the parking spot and paused before getting on the road to input home on the NAV. Just as I was finishing with Google map, I feel a light impact on my car. A girl in her brand-new Honda Civic backed her car into mine; her left rear bumper hit my right rear bumper. I went from a huge high of having my beautiful car tuned up to a tremendous low of having my almost perfect car get hit. Fearing the worst, I got out of the car and looked at my bumper. There was no huge damage other than couple good scratches that went through The paint and into the bumper plastic. It will definitely need painting to make the car look perfect again.

I was wondering if you all could look at your bumper and see what the fit and finish is where the bumper meets the metal on the left and right upper aspects of the bumper. Looking at mine, it looks like it's A few millimeters offset to the left. I'm wondering if the force to the right side of my bumper may have pushed my bumper slightly to the left. What is everyone's fit and finish where the upper bumper on the right and left sides meets the sheet-metal.

Thanks

Default Rear Bumper Fit

I've only owned my '06 S since last November. I did notice that the gaps around the rear bumper aren't consistent. I haven't noticed any left to right, but the gap between the bumper and the rear quarter panel is tighter toward the front. The difference on my car is slight.

It sounds like the most minor of types of accidents. At least you were in the car and could get her information from her. These types of things happen every day in every parking lot around the world to parked cars with owners not present, and 9.9 times out of 10 the person just drives off without leaving their info (either not caring or not noticing they hit someone's car while backing out or opening their door). Many ppl think the bumper is there to bump other cars when parking!

I'm sorry to hear but I'm confident with minimal medical attention your car will look perfect again.

This is annoying, but its really no big deal. What you should be asking is what's the best body shop in your area.

Find a good shop, use your own insurance, and let them subrogate reimbursement from the girls insurance. That way you're not dealing with her insurance that wants to get rid of you, won't return calls, tries to blame accident on you, etc. Instead you are dealing with your company that wants to keep you happy, and knows they won't be paying out in the end.

You would think acouple of scratches woyld be cheap to fix, but I bet its going to be over $1k in damage all told.
