Hit rev limiter and have a question
If you want to use you all of your power, or drive in a Track... you should shift the gears just when you watch the redline lights flashing
When I really want to drive fast, I only change my gears when I have all the Christmas lighs in my rev Gauge

Sheister,
Wasn't saying anything bad. I still haven't gotten that perfect shift yet, and when I hit my rev limiter for the first time I almost sh!t in pants b/c I thought I blew an engine or something, but the guys on s2ki were generous enough to reassure me that I did nothing wrong. Hitting the rev limiter sucks b/c the engine dies for a short term and freaks out people when they do it for the first time. That was the only time I think that I hit my rev limiter and haven't gotten close to it since then and that's why I probably haven't gotten that perfect shift yet.
Hope the shift beeper helps, but regardless congrats on the perfect shift!

I finished installing the shift beeper last night. I'd first like to start off by saying that I'm extremely impressed with the step by step instructions. Even though I don't have much of a clue about the S2000 electrical wiring, it didn't matter. I just followed the instructions and it worked when I was done.
Since I was required to spend some time under the dashboard on both the passenger and driver's sides, I took the opportunity to inspect the quality of the assembly. I'm an Industrial Engineer, so this type of stuff interests me. The people that put this car together have done some of the best assembly work that I have ever seen. Nothing was loose, no wire was too long, and everything had its place.
Back to the shift beeper installation, every piece that I needed for installation was included. Even the wires were already stripped at the end so that I didn't have to bother to do it myself.
I am simply amazed that Modify was able to create this device and then understood exactly which wires had to be connected where in order to get it to work properly. It was raining last night so I wasn't able to play with it, but I did test it in the garage. Like I said, it worked right the first time I tried it. I especially like the additional feature it has where you can connect a siren and program it to go off if the car is taken above a certain RPM. I'll definitely use that if I ever have to take the car in for service.
I find that the S2000 engine is so smooth that it is very difficult to tell when to shift based on the engine noise. I find myself peeking down at the tachometer when I'm trying to accelerate fast. If you have this problem like me, and I imagine that most of us do to some degree, then this is a no brainer modification that you must do.

PS: It looks like my request for a name change went through and I didn't notice it at first. My old name was Sheister and now it's Bret. I'm the same person that started this thread, me.

I tried it out this morning and it works exactly as advertised. It goes beep-beep-beep-beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. It's kind of like 1-2-3-shift. The constant beep is at you shift point. One really good thing about it is the pace of the beeps depend on how fast the rpm's are changing. This is important because the rpm's seem to change fastest in first gear. Or, sometimes you might not be pressing down the gas petal all of the way. I'm definitely satisfied.
