Just based on the pictures and nothing else, I would venture to guess that whoever was parked next to him went to back out of their spot, never even realized the silver S2000 was there (maybe there was rain on their passenger window or whatever, it's dark, never looked, got distracted, blah blah blah), started to crank the wheel way too early as if no one was there and... BAM! Their passenger side bumper impacted his driver's side fender.

To be honest, when I was 17 and first got my license I almost did exactly that. I was lucky though and a car parked across from me with the driver still in it honked its horn and I stopped before impact. How embarrassed I was, but would have been more so if I had hit that car! It's a mistake I've never made since.

Yep, that's exactly how I imagined it happening as well

The idiot that just drove off knowing they did this deserves a smack down. Not cool.

Yeah I was thinking that's how it happened. I guess they stopped before they took off the side mirror. Things like this are unfortunate. It pisses me off that someone could do something like this and just drive away.

Hit and run drivers suck. I was watching TV tonight and I hear this loud crunch and bang outside that was clearly the sound of a car collision and a tire breaking its bead. Then I hear the sound of a tire screeching like it's being dragged. I step out on my balcony and I see the source of the tire noise limping off down the street. He couldn't have made it far like that. So I go outside, find the car he hit, owner is nowhere around. I call the cops and report it.

Here's the sad part. I live three doors down from where this happened. The neighbor directly across the street came out for a smoke when the cops arrived. I asked him if he heard the hit. He said yeah but didn't know what it was. Wtf? Why is it that the woman three doors down recognizes the sound of a car accident immediately, is the first to come out, check on things, find the badly damaged car and report it when the neighbors directly across the street didn't even bother? Argh! Maybe he was sleeping. *sigh*
