HKS Exhaust

1)HKS does NOT lose power. I have proof (my dyno) but won't post it because I like people who post up wives tales they heard from their friend's dog as fact. If you all want to dig around the FI forum, you can and find my dyno, which shows it flows better than stock, so much so that it causes boost creep on my turbo.
2)HKS is 1/2 the weight of stock, so you will GAIN power just from less weight (power/weight)

I've heard they are dyno proven to lose you 5 horsepower?
i had the HKS dual on my first S and the sound was incredible. since the exhaust came with the car, i had nothing to compare it to. i sold that S and the exhaust along with it and now i am driving one that is completely stock. i don't know if it's just the sound messing with my head but the HKS definitely felt more responsive. i am planning to get the HKS single asap

I dyno'ed just this past saturday with the HKS Hi-power dual exhaust (large resonator removed) and a weapon R intake and put up numbers 5-9 hp less than the other S's that were there with me. my best was 189 WHP
Techs said it was probably due to the open air intake I was using sucking in hotter air than the stock air box and the fact the large resonator being removed actually decreasing back pressure. This and the fact it was 100% humidity and 95 degrees did not help either but that fact was the same for everybody.
The first two factors could easily have accounted for the almost 10 pony loss for me.
I can not account for the HKS straight from the factory since I took delivery of mine already modified, but it looks and sounds great.

you are comparing your car with other cars instead of comparing your car with or without your HKS exhaust??

not to offense you but come on !! what is the basic purpose of the exhaust ???
it is not to make ur exhaust good nor make it sound good
IT IS TO have better air flowing so u will gain more power........
i meant u want a horse power from exhaust that is what it is made for but if it doesnt gain any HP then just get muffler for sound
