HKS Exhaust. Is this information true?
"HKS exhaust...
- Heavy. 45lb. I believe.
- No HP gain.
- Poor material for its price. Not stainless leads to rusting over time.
- Poor workmanship/welding. There have been numerous reports of holes developing at the welds after about one year of use.
- Quite loud, but some people do like it.
To sum it up, HKS is one of the very worst exhaust you can buy for S2000. A downgrade from stock exhaust.
Try the search function and you'll find plenty feedbacks on the HKS exhaust."
"The sound is very loud so don't get it if you're into classical music. I've had to sound-proof my cockpit and add a 4 channel amp to improve (barely) my sound system."
some people say the HKS is just as loud as stock and some say it's loud. what's your opinion?

The HKS exhaust is very durable and it's made of high quality. It's not expensive at all compared to other exhausts, and it sounds amazing. People always compliment me on it.
I would definitely recommend a testpipe though...it's kinda quiet with the cat.

yeah i'm buying one this week because of all the great reviews, and then i just read this today after doing a search here on this forum. i think i'm going to stick with my choice of HKS though. the only reason i'm going HKS and not Invidia is because i had an Invidia before and my parents will only let me mod the car if i don't get an overly loud exhaust like the Invidia.
What exactly is the difference btwn the Hi Power and the Hiper?

loud? it is one of the quietest exhausts out there for the s2k.. it is also, IMHO, one of the very best sounding exhausts there is for the S2. i have a test pipe on mine and the sound is just orgasmic when u give it WOT through a tunnel. it is very well made, no problems with mine and ive had it on the car the second day after it was registered.

I think if you buy the silent hi-power then the exhaust is full stainless steel where as the hi-power is stainless at the back but a part of it is mild steel well thats what i was told by sumo power when i was on the phone with them.
