VTEC is unbelievable! It is amazing, it took me FOREVER to get over the 600 miles, and now I am at 1,300 in two weeks!

Once I saw the forecast for this weekend, I took Friday off and I have been out VTEC'ing every afternoon (mornings left to clean off the bugs and admire the little beast).

Well, off for some breakfast and another fast drive...

Anyone know of any good roads in Northern Virginia? Once I find some good ones, I will post. So far, only small sections, but nothing like the CA-Vegas roads.

We've got lots of s2000s around here ... but not many roads to match ...

I like taking Georgetown Pike and the GW Parkway whenever I can ... but it's only super-fun when there's no traffic ... which only happens about 1% of the time ...

My favorite thing to do ... take Rt. 7 out past Leesburg ... and when the terrain starts getting a little hilly ... explore some of the side roads ... there are some great runs out there ...

Oh yah ... you might want to ask Rick and James about speeding around Berryville though ...

Have fun,
Derek

Who says it is restrictive? Did you happen to notice the size of it? The engine likes cool air better than the warm air it suchs in with the airbox cover off. It has been very well documented that the airbox cover being off loses HP. Sounds cool though. So far not much has proved better than the stock airbox with a less restrictive filter.

It does not change the valve timing on the S2000. It switches to higher lift and duration cam lobes on both the intake and exhaust sides. Cam timing remains the same. The new i-Vtec system changes both.

if you do a search for something like "intake cover" on this board you'll discover endless discussion and the resulting conclusion (both butt dyno and real dyno based) that removing the air intake cover results in reduced power. you'll also discover discussion of why this is so (airflow tuning as well as air temp management) and some tales of woe resulting from cover removal.

suggest you not try to apply the general "honda tuning rules" with the S2K (feel free to also search for "injen" and "cai" for further examples).

Yup, vtec-ing is pretty addictive.

Hi, my name is MarkS2K and I'm a vtec-aholic.

I wouldn't recommend wax over zaino. If you decide to apply anlther coat os zaino it may not adhere correctly. In fact they recommend all wax be stripped of before application.
I usually add another coat of Z2 after teh car wash just to keep her lookin' good.
Makes me feel like she's faster too. I know it's all in my head, but isn't that 90% of perception anyway!
