Honda Quality Reputation?
I'm sure this is not new news but probably bears repeating. I tried to register the S2000 at AllData to get service bulletin inf. and here's what popped up:
"IMPORTANT NOTICE
The American Honda Motor Company, Inc. has requested ALLDATA restrict access to Acura and Honda repair information by individual consumers. You will unfortunately not be able to register for access to Acura or Honda vehicle repair information, technical service bulletins or recalls.
We kindly request that all comments should be directed to:
American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

Is secrecy how Honda maintains its reputation for quality?

Funny you should mention this today (and it is fairly old news)... Check out this article in the McPaper today:
http://www.usatoday.com/money/bcovwed.htm
Although it deals mainly with the differing price of repairs at dealers vs. independent shops, it touches on how the manufacturers are very protective of their intellectual property and who they dole it out to. Programming of the computers is an example. They mention that with the onset of OBD-II and federal law requiring manufacturers to disclose all info regarding exhaust / emissions systems to any and all who ask, those same manufacturers are of the mindset that releasing any other info must be mandated. Interesting read in a USA Today kind of way.
BTW--You can get the titles of any and all TSB's for the US at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website.
