Honda Reliability
I'm curious of the reliability of the Honda. I've never owned a Honda car. I do own a Honda ATV and a Honda sportbike. The ATV and the sportbike have been completely reliable. I'm just wondering if their cars are as good as their other products. I'm wondering with the engine change in the 2004 S2000 if I'm going to run into problems. I bought a 2003 Ford Powerstroke earlier this year and regretted it. I finally got rid of it. I'm just wondering with the different engine in the 2004 if I'm going to have the same headaches. Thanks for any help.
Honda reliability is far beyond top notch
. You honestly dont have to worry about much, My friends 89 Accord had 400k miles on it and was going strong till he got it towed and never found it lol. Honda and Toyota has one of the best reliability reputations in the industry, and theyre easy to fix.
I agree! (what is the d*mned HTML code for the little guy with the 'I agree' poster???)
Honda reliability is second to none! My wife's 1996 Civic is one of the primary reasons I bought the S2K. With speed, reliability and a wicked-cool redline how can you go wrong?
I don't THINK the F22C is a new powertrain for Honda (correct me if I'm wrong?), but the F20C has been ROCK SOLID so I doubt there's any reason to worry. If anything, the 2.2L will not be pushed as hard as the 2.0 is, so I'd expect reliabililty to go UP. Combined with stronger differential the MY04 should be good to go!
Good luck and look forward to seeing you on the boards as "Owner"!...

I say more technology borrowed from their sport bikes made it into the car then F1. F1 is much more technology advanced and short engine life spans. Their motorcycles use OHC engines with conventional valve actuation compared to pneumatic on F1.

I really liked how honda's new F1 engine let go on it's first race this year. That was kinda fun, although it did seem pretty fast before it went out. Next race out it was fine though.
That being said, I have an '01 and i've not had any troubles with it. This was my first Honda (never really had anything i like before) and I am very impressed with it. I would buy a honda again.

I would get another Honda, if I could get it serviced at Acura.
My Acuras were a dream to own and service, with little to no warranty work. I had a GS-R, so it was their performance model engine too.
My thinking was hey, Acura and Honda are the same company, so I can't go wrong.
WRONG. Honda is light years behind the service philosophy of Acura.
So I agree with the above reply, Honda car yes.....Honda service NO!
