Honda Research
I find myself agreeing for the most part with the original poster. Some may argue the "pure sports car" line. But I find that doesn't jibe with power top, power locks/windows/mirrors, a superfluous start button, a cupholder at all, leather interior, '00 aluminum shifter, and secondary radio controls. Sure, as much as most any other car (exlcuding Elise), this one caters to the primary mission. But let's be honest and admit that they had to play the marketting/tradeoff game like every other car. And to me, they made some strange choices. I've yet to see someone defend the carpetted tunnel except to say that Honda rectified this in '02. Ditto for clock. Really, to say that a clock detracts from the driving experience is laughable.
Again, personal taste. I love the mission of the car, the engine, the shifter. I do not like the interior (much prefer a Miata's). Primary reason why I'm an "enthusiast" and not "owner".
