Honda "service?"
-- I too had the tranny TSB done --- it changed nothing with the grind--it stays for awhile and the returns at random. While it was at the dealer they broke a bolt off in the transmission mount.
At 14,000 miles I had the 15,000 mile service done -- the result=
I now have a leaky rear seal AND
they left the differential fill bolt nearly completely loose --- it was only the oil from the rear seal that caused me to check under the car -- which saved it before the differential fill bolt fell out!
They also left all four of the tire valve stem covers extremely loose .... for this they charged $160.00.
This dealership is so busy trying to convince the customer to hand over to them any Honda service questionaires so they can inflate their ratings that they completely fail to remember that the proof is always in the results -- not in the hype. Their customer perk for forking over the questionaire is a free detail job. Sounds like more of a blow job to me --- and they are blow hards.

Dealership service stinks, no matter where you go.
Why?
Because of the clever dealership flat-rate concept. When I do an oil change, it takes me an hour. When a Honda tech does an oil change, he's paid for 15 minutes. There's a reason why it takes me an hour (despite the fact that I'm slow).

modifying my comments made in the first post --
the rear seal was not the problem with the oil "leak" --
the dealer LEFT OFF THE OIL FILL CAP!!! It was left inverted on the engine -- the good news is that it stayed where it was left .. the engine has been a bit oil spattered ... if anything they overiflled the engine oil ... the stick is showing FULL plus.

I disagree with LVS 2K .... there are few Honda dealers in this part of the world(and these are from the same tree) and certainly the selling dealer has the responsibility for the car ... we certainly don't need to cave in on this matter....Honda will continue with this problem and therefore we will too unless we unite on this issue ... running from dealer to dealer is accepting the blame .. we are the victims .... Honda is at fault ... anyone with a brain can see that. Apparently Honda's marketing is working but there is no meat on the burger. Honda - Home of the Big Bun ... Where's the Meat? Apparently in the head's of some Honda consumers.
all good points - however the one that caught my attention was the one about 'forking over the surveys...' i've never heard of this before, not in my experience working as a honda salesman nor from buying the 4 honda's i've owned, 3 from different dealerships... is this common? the worst i've seen is a salesman reminding me to send that survey in ASAP... *shrug* maybe i'm just clueless, but that was news to me

all I can report is what I have experienced .... call it a bribe or call it a gimick ... the worst of it is that Honda Marketing has "them" jumping through hoops rather than delivering on promises ...
illusion rather than reality..this dealer thinks that a quick free wash job is a full substitution for professional service ......
it also is disconcerting that so many posts on this site are willing to take the fall for Honda's customer abuse. $35,000.00 dollars American is a lot of cash for what some have described as a beta test car.
Today's experience of finding the oil cap off the engine and the differential fill bolt unscrewed from the 15,000 mile service is a bit too much to accept .... not mentioning the four valve stem caps that were ready to all off .....
