Honda Silicone Grease;
Yea its that tishitszu grease. I need some to do my car but its on back order till the cows come home. Anybody have some on hand I can buy. I gonna be prepping my car for summer in the next month for summer. Its gonna be a weekend thing. Strip it down and detail every little nook and crany.
I stopped by the dealer today. Was $15 for a tube of it. Will be here on tuesday. The guy at the parts counter said I could just go to walmart and get a tube of silicon grease because thats all it was. He said not to use an oil based grease as it will crack the rubber.
Looks like its a trip to Pep Boys or Auto Zone for me. I just went out and spent a over 200 bucks on supplies.
Here is my list.
5 oil filters
5 crush washers.
Front Brakes
Rear Brakes
S2000 Tee
All via our Sponsor!!! Never say I dont support them. I still need somebody to help me install the brakes.
Then from Griots Garage:
Leather care
Cleaner(general purpose leather/dash/etc)
Fuel Guard
Soap
Sponges
Big oil pump! Cant wait to use that sucker!
That was like the last thing I needed. I still have to do the top protectant and I gotta get my self some nice Zymol Japon. Along with a Clay Magic Bar. My baby took a beating over the winter!
Oh well a bit of TLC and maybe some touchup paint and a quick re-apply of paint to the calipers and good as new!
PS: Looks like somebody had a tube at their house they are willing to part with so looks like im all set.

Can somoene who has an actual tube of the stuff please post the actual Shin-Etsu product number, or any identifying info on the tube? I can't quite make out the fine print in the photo.
I can get the specs from this info--viscosity, etc. (I promise to post them!) I want to make sure the stuff I'm using (from Beckman) is a rational substitute, and also try to locate additional sources for the Shin-Etsu stuff. Shin-Etsu is a huge manufacturer of everything silicon from chip wafers to cosmetics to pharmaceuticals.
Thanks in advance.

Honda's latest eta off back order is 3-9, which sounds good until you get to the qualifier on it that their estimate should be within 20 days of the actual date. We have over 40 tubes of it on back order with them. They really must have underestimated the demand for it.
