It's just silicone grease to keep rubber seals located. Anything like that will do. No need to go overboard on this.

Are you forgeting this forum is full of OBSESIVE-COMPULSIVE car enthusiasts in love with their S2k's? Some of us even have the sleep-with-my-wife-but-don't-drive-my-Stook mentality (just joking of course...I hope).
So, will any other silicone grease do it? Probably so. Will I risk to use it and then have the rubber sealing cracking 2 years from now? No. In other words, I rather wait for my grease to arrive. Hope you don't get upset with us for that.

The dealer gave me some silicone SPRAY to use. It's quite easy and you just wipe it down with a towel after spraying it on. It was about $6 from the local dealer.

I bought some "100% silicone grease" today at Autozone for 2 bucks. I know it's not "Honda" but how bad can it be?

this may sound stupid, but...

can someone please point out exactly what areas need to have the grease applied?

i'm ashamed to admit it, but i've got almost 19000mi, and i've never put any of the grease on the recommended areas!

need help.....

1st don't sweat it- it is only there to make a tighter seal and prevent leaks. my understanding is that the rubber where the top makes contact with the windscreen should get a light film every so often to keep it pliable. You could also apply it to all rubber seals (ie trunk). I can't recall exactly what the manual says.

Simply anwhere there is a rubber to metal seal!

Trunk/doors/hood/conv top/top of windows where they meet the window.

Though the last one can leave a little grease film on the window if your super picky.

It is off back order finally!!

We got in enough today to fill most all of the back orders and the last ones should go out within the next day or so as the next shipment from one of Honda's other depots shows up.
