I did the steel wool (00) think right after I got mine. It scratched it all to hell. I don't know why. It just didn't look right.
I sat in the lotus position and prayed for 3 days. No food or water. Not even a bathroom break.
Lo and behold after those 3 days I opened my eyes and and the finish looked just like I laid down 10 coats of Zaino.
cool

See, that is the problem.. you're not supposed to use steel wool, you're supposed to be using a BRILLO pad! After that, use 100 grit sandpaper and dip it in paint thinner to get the really stubborn stains off! If you accidentally get the paint off, go to Home Depot and buy some red Krylon to respray.

Oh yea, don't forget to use dishwashing liquid to use with your brillo pad, your car will come out to be as shiny as your porceline dishes...

Disclaimer:

Just in case you really are this dumb, IT IS JUST A JOKE AND YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER EVER USE BRILLO PADS, STEEL WOOL, OR SANDPAPER ON YOUR CAR.

OMG, I can't believe s2ki members are so rude to newbies. Yes steel wool is fine, the scratch marks you see will fade as the car dries.

Your mistake was not using heavy grain sandpaper to give it a nice shiny sheen. This works better when you use a power sander. I love your idea about the soft top. You should not use spray paint though. I think the best solution is to use the stuff you bleach hair with. Get the black out (the top will be platinum blonde). Then get Revlon #34 goergous red lovely and apply liberally. I think you can do the same for the inside carpet too!

Try using rubbing compound on it.

There is this thing called COMMON SENSE!!! We're giving you the benefit of the doubt thinking that no one would do something this stupid... It's equivalent to me brandishing a gun in front of a cop..

If you are being serious here, I would either head to your local bodyshop or detailer to get the scratches out.. it won't be cheap btw.
