Alright dude... TOTALLY INTERESTED HERE ON THE EMS!!!!!!!!!!!... Power? Driveability? Any problems?

Andre
Power: No difference as compared to the Hondata ECU reflash. Hondata optimally tuned my car when doing the reflash and there wasn't anything to "enhance" when the EMS was installed.

Driveability: No issues.

Problems: None significant, but depending on how anal you are you lose the following capabilities with the EMS: VSA and cruise control.

Totally interested in the EMS? I may be selling mine.

So, unless you are at WOT between 4200 and 6000 RPM it does not switch to high cam?
Correct.

How come you lose the VSA and the Cruise Control when it's only a piggy-back to the stock ECU?

I guess I'll just have to wait for something else to come out... like maybe the K-Pro by Hondata. I'm not anal about the Cruise Control, but very anal about the VSA. Keeps me at a nice state of mind knowing that it's on and watching my every move.

Let me preface my following statements with the fact that I am not technically savvy on this. With this configuration, the factory ECU is used to control the DBW and the EMS controls everything else. The VSA and cruise control are tied with the DBW. The factory ECU is still controlling the DBW, but only to a certain extent--the EMS is controlling a/f mixture and sends competing/over-riding signals to the DBW unit.

Sorry...I cannot explain this better...

If Hondata comes out with a "F-Pro", there is no assurance that VSA and cruise control will still be operable. The problem may be "universal".

An AEM EMS is not a "piggy-back". It's a stand alone. It is my understanding that it replaces the stock ECU.

On anything but the MY06 S2000 an AEM EMS completely replaces the factory ECU. However, the AEM EMS is unable to control the DBW, so the factory ECU is used in parallel with the AEM EMS.

If the stock ECU is still hooked up, how come the VSA and CC no longer works? Can you not keep those connections intact? It's turning out that the '06 is a tuning nightmare.
Although the factory ECU is technically hooked up, most of the input/output wires have been "eliminated". If all of the wires were hooked up to both the factory ECU and the EMS the car wouldn't know how to run because it would be receiving conflicting signals. So, a few wires are connected to the factory ECU and the remaining to the AEM EMS.

Yes, the MY06 is a pain in the ass!
