The only way to go is a re-flash, I had that done on my C6 and never had one issue.I'm sure Hondata will continue to make upgrades for the 06>.Unless your building a track car loosing the features that were incorporated in the 06' makes no sense.

Let me preface my following statements with the fact that I am not technically savvy on this. With this configuration, the factory ECU is used to control the DBW and the EMS controls everything else. The VSA and cruise control are tied with the DBW. The factory ECU is still controlling the DBW, but only to a certain extent--the EMS is controlling a/f mixture and sends competing/over-riding signals to the DBW unit.

Sorry...I cannot explain this better...

If Hondata comes out with a "F-Pro", there is no assurance that VSA and cruise control will still be operable. The problem may be "universal".
Thank you for your input. Don't feel bad that you're not technically savvy cause I'm not either but it shows you know more than I do on this issue, so it's all good... thanks...

Does anyone know what is needed to reflash the stock ECU? I mean... if it is retuneable... then shouldn't it be able to be tuned as if tuning the EMS?

To have the factory ECU reflashed you have to have an authorized Hondata retailer send your ECU to Hondata to be reflashed.

The reflash is not tuneable--it is a one time manipulation of the factory ECU. Please do not confuse a reflash with something like K-Pro or an AEM EMS. If Hondata comes out with a "F-Pro" for the MY06 S2000 than yes you can use a laptop to custom tune your vehicle.

Damn... this sucks... lol. Well then... I don't know what to say anymore... lol. I only thing I can say is I guess I'm going to wait it out for a while and maybe something of my tasting will come up. The EMS is still on the mind but losing the VSA and CC is a little hard to swallow. Thanks for your $0.02 man.

And if you get the reflash for the car stock, then you get a header and test pipe and want to get a re-flash tuned to that (with the 4200 -6000 vtec window), it costs an additional $200.

I also wonder if the header reflash is worth it without getting a test pipe, or maybe with a high flow cat. Would be helpful if Hondata did more tests with a few variables to see some results. I don't think the dyno would costs too much, especially for a business.

For what it is worth, the AEM EMS does have a traction control feature. You simply need to have a knowledgeable person program that function.

Also, like I said before, even if Hondata comes out with an F-Pro we still may lose VSA.
