So yesterday after running some errands I put the key into the ignition and when i twist the key (and before I push start) the car makes 3 honks (very quick, maybe 4?). Its not technically a beeping noise, but literally sounds like I honked 3 very quick times. And now I notice that it will not honk when I double tap the lock key on my remote. Any idea wats going on? It does this every time now.

 

Sounds like some shorting or something maybe??

 

hmmmm.......thats weird.....the car is less than 1 years old

 

and another question.....how do I even test if I have the factory alarm installed? I paid for it

 

nevermind, figured it out

 

there should be a control unit boc under the drivers seat if you have the accessory alarm. there should be a box bolted to the seat bottom and a wire harness

as for the alarm, check the alarm owners manual, it must have been put in a wierd bypass mode or something.

i know if you hold the lock and unlock button it turn the alarm beep on or off.
