i am thinking about installing a similar system and was wondering if that helped in the recovery of the car and catching those who were jerks enough to violate your home and car.

He updated a while ago: the car was traced and actually led them to several other stolen cars, getting ready to be shipped out! If you do a search, you'll find the story...
