Houston Dealers
#1
Does anyone know of any dealers in Houston selling the S2000 for at or near sticker price? My friend's dad went to try to get one at John Eagle Honda, and even though he has bought three cars from the dealership, they wanted 10K over MSRP! He told them that was crazy, and thay said they could do 5k over because he was a previous buyer. They also said something about inventories would be dropping due to some shortage of the car...is that true or a bunch of crap that dealers always talk about? Thanks for any help!!

John Eagle is great for doing aftermarket work, but I was going to buy mine there and they went down to 2K above sticker. They offered me 5k over at first. I ended up getting mine at Goodson because they were much more down to earth. I can refer you to my sales person if you would like.

Actually I just got mine a john eagle... as hard as I tried, I couldn't get to it MSRP... ut I got it for $34. At first, they wants $39... but I guess with the way the economy has been, not many are buying. They have two more yellow and a silver in stock.

Try McDavid Honda. They are more realistic, usually at 1000 or 1500 over sticker.
I dealt with Ryan Pryor, and he was great. For reference, I got mine last year for 800 over including extra-cost mats and a couple of other minor things, but Ryan was giving other people I was referring to him 1200 over (he said since I have purchased 3 cars from them over the last few years that I got a "special discount". Yeah right).
Anyways if you use Ryan tell him I sent you, and good luck with the price. I just saw they had a yellow and silver on their lot, hot off the truck, yesterday.

When I was looking for my S2000 I called every dealer in Houston and not one would sell an S2000 for MSRP. I ended up getting my car at MSRP from a dealer in Louisiana because the dealers there were not nearly as greedy! Sure it was a trip but I saved myself $5K! I can refer you to the dealerships in Louisiana I found that would sell for MSRP if you are interested.

I also got mine at McDavid last year, thanks to SJ Riley. I got mine for $900 over MSRP (including mats), although they told me "don't tell anyone we gave you this deal". Puhleeze.
These cars were much harder to get last year. I would think that MSRP would be easier to get since most dealer now have them sitting on the lots.

Thanks for all the great info, I guess we will see about McDavid. I figured we could get one farther away for cheaper, but my buddie's dad said he just wants either an S2000 or a Z3, whatever is easier to get...hopefully I can convince him to go with the Honda! Thanks a lot guys!
