I was thinking what does S2000 mean and how did it get this name?

S = Sports
2000 = Displacement

 

Do a search on S600, S500, and S800.

 

i'm pretty sure its becuase it came out in the new millenium
it came out for sale in 99 i think, correct me if i am wrong.
So that is one reason,

the other reaso is that when it came out, it was a 2.0L engine,
therefore, 2000, pertaining to its displacement.
but if that was true, MY04's should have been called the S2200

I do not know for sure, why dont you goole it and find out

 

haha, i did the search, and YES!! its related to the displacement of the motor!!
