Default How Do I Remove The Inner Door Handle?

According to the Service Manual (page 20-7), the inner door handle (assembly) is attached to the door with two screws.

If I remove the two screws, can I remove the handle (assembly), or will it still be attached by the front lock rod and inner handle rod? Can I release the two rods without further disassembly?

Can anyone help?

I changed the speakers long ago, and I think you just unscrew the 2 screws and it comes off. Trust me, if I can do it, anybody can do it. I am all thumbs and not mechanical.

The handle rod should still be connected to the handle. This will need to be disconnected before the handle can be free of the car. This rod is held on by a sort of swivel clip that holds the rod end in its corresponding hole. When you unclip it and swivel it out of the way, DON'T LOSE THE CLIP!

Thanks for the advise!

I got the job done today. Hopefully, the re-installation will go smoothly, as well.
