I carry a Q-Tip with me and push it closed with the Q-Tip

 

i put on my white gloves and close the door, then if there are any marks, i pull out the bottle of quick detailer and clean it.

my passangers seem to get upset at waiting, why is that?

 

I jack up the driver's side of the car and let gravity do the work. It takes a little longer, but if you don't touch the door you can't scratch it.

Hey, this is kinda like group therapy for people anal about their S2000 ! ! !

 

I think pushing on the weather strip is a bad idea as it applies some torque about the horizontal axis of the door. Also, it may loosen the weather strip over time. I make a fist with my left hand an push the door just above the keyhole with the inner side of my fist (i.e. the side of my pointer finger and thumb). Fingerprints shouldn't really be noticeable if your hand is pretty clean.

I usually carry my wallet in my hand, to uncomfortable in the back pocket, to much money you know, I use the leather wallet to close the door.

However, what really pisses me off is when someone other than me closes the trunk, I have an oem spoiler and everyone places their greasy palms on the spoiler, I only touch the brake light.
