Closing the boot is piss easy! I use the frame on the underside of the boot and shut it. You use the momentum when pulling down but you have to be quick with getting your hand out. I've been doing it for a while and haven't lost any fingers!

 

You fail to realize that anal retentive individuals CANNOT and WILL NOT allow finger prints even on the inside of the trunk. Heaven forbid should they one day be laying in the trunk, only to look up with a flashlight and see ................... ............ FINGERPRINTS!

It took me a minute to figure out what you meant by the boot. Here in the U.S. we wear our boots.
