Wow, I didn't know this was such a big thing. Shoulda had a poll with this one. I use the handle. Silverstone hides fingerprints very well.

anywhere on the door except for the glass. The manual even states that you shouldn't shut the door using the glass window, this is how leaks start.

I agree with this guy.
"I think pushing on the weather strip is a bad idea as it applies some torque about the horizontal axis of the door. Also, it may loosen the weather strip over time. "

i open my hand and use the very bottom of my left palm. its almost my wrist. it doesnt seem to leave as many smudges, so I feel like it damages the paint less.

I can't believe any of you actually concern yourselves with something so trivial.

Use my fingers at the very very edge of the door, so minimal prints, oils, dirts, etc etc....

-Johnny

P.S. Maybe someone should make something that can shut our doors with a push of a button

Bluescreen, I'll do ya one better ................. HOLY KASCHIZNITZ!

GChambers, I think we've just found THE ANAL RETENTIVE thread of the month, maybe of the year!

I close my door anyway that's handy. Have done for over 2 years and the door still works and I can't see any finger prints anyway from all that mud that gets kicked up.
I'll even occasionally give 'er the ol' "moon" push:

I agree with those above saying the weatherstrip is a bad thing. I just push the door closed like I would any other car w/o pushing on the glass.

I actually just put my finger on the key hole of the door and push from there. That's actually the only way I will close the door. Takes a few times to get used to. May sound anal but with a black car its nessarsary to keep it somewhat clean
