Thanks for all ya'lls help. I didn't know about the sales tax issue. Thanks agin.

It is totaled. Now, we have to come up with the value of the car. I know they will give me what they think is fair to them but I am going to ask for 29K with the hardtop option added to it. I think that is fair.

Looks like you scored and made the best out of a bad situation. I didn't know about the sales tax that you request to get reimbursed from the insurance company. Learn something new everyday from this board.

I am an insurance agent. You got the best possible scenario. I am pretty impressed that you were able to get that amount. Kudos to you.

excellent outcome!!!!!!!!!!
you can probably find a new 'leftover" 05 for less than what you got for the car alone and have enough for a new hardtop as well. check eBay for some ideas on pricing--right now new 05s appear to be going for around 28-29k (less than what you received!!!)
nice going!

Since I already have a daily to drive(05 Titan), I'm gonna wait a little bit to make a wise decision. I already had the S2000 experience but there are others out there that I might want to look at also. Maybe a Z06, NSX, G35.....who knows.
