I had my car start sputtering while going up a hill coming home over the mountains one day at 5:30am. I coasted into the nearest gas station a few miles away I had to sit and wait 15 minutes till they opened.

This was the result.

Was the closest I ever came to running out in any car I've ever owned.

Three bars and I start looking for a gas station. I have enough tension in my life without having to worry about how long I have if the empty light comes on.
I never let it fall below 3 bars.

Impressive.

I've hit high 11s.

I've read too much S2ki bad for fuel pump blah blah now so I just fill up at 1/4 or whatever.

I once got so far past the E that I blacked out. When I woke up, I was in a ditch and the tank was full. I never found out who filled it up...and I never got to thank them.

Gas is cheap in American compared to Canada... We're at 99.4 cents a litre, so let's say a dollar a litre, and I just checked gas prices in Michigan are around 2.8 dollars a gallon which is 3.785 litres, so you're paying a dollar less for fuel, that makes no sense.

We went for a ride along the coast and we went one town to far. When I had no bars left I slowed down to 45 and made it to the gas station, it took 12.9 gal. at the most expensive station($3.89) that we stopped at on our 1400 mile drive.
At 40 or 45 I'm in 6th gear if it's a flat road, if it's hilly then I'm in 5th gear.
