Default How fast can you take a 90 degree corner

I was wondering what is "normal"

I have an AP1 and can do a 90 degree corner like from the inside lane of a 2 lane road to the inside lane of another 2 lane road at about 38 mph. . .

I've not had it slip out on me due to understeer but I'm pretty much afraid to take the corner any harder / faster than that.

I also have 17" SSR Wheels and wider tires 215/245 on the car and a strut tower bar. . plus stiffer Tein springs. . .

Left hand turn (inside lane to inside lane)

It's a pretty wide intersection. . .

Not sure, but it sounds like you need to look into autocrossing.

5mph. In the rain. In the parking structure.

it goes sideways like whoaa

but srsly, where are you measuring your speed? entering? exiting? I doubt you're carrying 38mph through the turn...

The fact that you omitted tire brand and road temperature suggests that you really need to start autocrossing.

If you can't adapt to road conditions "on the fly" and rely on a speedo / tach to try and tell you what's safe, you're going to be in a world of hurt when you hit an off-camber turn.

If he's smart, it's while exiting. Slow in fast out ftw.

Depends on the following and more:

Tires
tire tread depth
suspension
driver skill
Road surface
turn radius
weather
luck
alignment
and a mess of other things

Honestly, it really doesn't feel like I'm pushing it but since I DON'T want to push it, 38's about where it is at the apex before I put the gas back on.

Btw. . .I am not looking down to see what my speed should be n using that as my "max" cornering speed.

I am driving it in with foot off the gas and off the brake at stabilized entry speed and then glance at the speedo to see where it is during the turn.

I could push it a lot harder but I don't want to.

I am not getting any kind of tire squeal or slippage.

I'm just looking for comparisons . . .I am by no means "ripping it full tilt through the corner. "

Doesn't anyone look at their cornering speed ever ? or is it all eyes on the turn ?

I think everyone is saying that it is a bad question.

It relies on a million different variables, some of which are absolutely critical (tires, weight, temperature, road surface, suspension geo...) and is something that can only be answered by feel and experience.

GO AUTOX! It's cheap, fun and pretty easy on the car.

(nobody here wants to say you can do it at 33.874 mph and then have you punt it and blame it on the internets)
