Uhhh, Road&Track page 59, right hand collum. And I did mean that he can get it instead of jack up his car, "IF IT COMES OUT" . I didn't mean that S2200 is coming out for sure, people!!!

Is it a misunderstood of your reading?

Yeah, we've seen the article, but if I'm remembering the slant of it correctly, the editor was reporting that Honda is considering it. If it never happens, he just claims they decided against it and he's still not wrong. So, I won't put any faith into it until Honda does a formal introduction.

Plus, how do we know a hardtop will be significantly lighter (300 - 400 lbs per your claim)? Everyone talks like the frame is the main part of what makes the S2000 as heavy as it is. Will it really be just that simple to lighten it up that much, considering that this car was designed first as a roadster?

Spare tire.
Tool kit.
Passenger seat.
Soft top and mechanism.
Air conditioner.
Radio and speakers.
Carpet.
Interior plastic.
Any mod with mass (X brace, STB, rear spoiler, front spoiler, side stakes)
All rice.
Anything Rick's.
Lighter wheels.
Replace stock parts with titanium (exhaust, ?intake).

Have I gotten to 2600 lb yet? I doubt it. 400 more lb? That will take some doing.

Serious diet for most of us, if the CDC is correct. (see http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/obesity/index.htm).

I did not say that the car will be in production for sure, didn't I? From that article, I just told the guy to wait, not to buy an S for jacking poposes, if the new S will ever come out. If it will never come out, it still o.k. with me!!!, 'cause I didn't say I want one either! I did only piont out that in order to diet the car that much he needs to totally, and compleatly strip down the car to the piont that he won't have anything left, plus it's not worth it, etc.

HEY!, HEY!, I did not claim that it'll be "approx." 3-400lbs lighter, but in comonsence, hard top is going to be lighter than soft top in the same model, as you all know. I just guessing the number like when you imagine of something and try to figgure out what would it be like, THAT WAS IT!!! I didn't even say anything about S2000 has a heavy frame or ineficiant in design, as I waiting for my time to buy one. I even stated that it just a fun thought, chit-chat killing time only. So, I don't even understand WTF are you bichin' about?

I don't know if this helps any, but "the roof power mechanism weighs just 13 lbs."-from Daniel Carney's S2000 book.
