how fast would a 2200lb S2000 be?
in response to the original question: attend a track event with FI Miatas or Spyders if you can even find the later. that should give you a decent feel of a 10:1 HP to weight ratio. it's entirely too fast for me. it's "stupid fast".

Spare tire.
Tool kit.
Passenger seat.
Soft top and mechanism.
Air conditioner.
Radio and speakers.
Carpet.
Interior plastic.
Any mod with mass (X brace, STB, rear spoiler, front spoiler, side stakes)
All rice.
Anything Rick's.
Lighter wheels.
Replace stock parts with titanium (exhaust, ?intake).
Have I gotten to 2600 lb yet? I doubt it.

The Spoon S2k had some serious weight reduction to it, to the point that every nut and bolt was replaced with TI ones. I dont remember the weight of it, but I thinks it was around 2400ish? It was in an article in SCC, Stock s2k VS SC s2k VS Spoon s2k at a track, and I think I remember the SC s2k having like 100+more hp and the spoon still won at the track
Correct me if I'm wrong.

remember in sport compact car when they put an integra type r motor in a lotus eilise and put it up against the ford mustang cobra r. the lotus ran i think a 12.2 but i am not sure. i emember it being a low low 12. that is a 195 crank hp motor in a 1800lb car 240 in a 2200lbs car. i think it would be very close to to this lotus or even better.

I didn't even say anything about S2000 has a heavy frame or ineficiant in design, as I waiting for my time to buy one. I even stated that it just a fun thought, chit-chat killing time only. So, I don't even understand WTF are you bichin' about?

While you are basically right about convertible versions of a coupe usually weighing a lot more, I'm wondering out loud if making a coupe version of car that was designed from the ground up as a roadster would still result in that large of a difference in weight?
