Hello

How hard is it to close your car's hood, ie how high are you holding the hood from the latch before you drop it ? Does it always close and latch on the first attempt at this height ?

I am new to this car, so I am not sure this is normal - I have to hold mine about a foot and drop it 3 or 4 times before the latch catches it.

Hold it open about 6 inches and just let it drop. Latches everytime here.

 

There are four rubber bumpers around the perimeter of the hood. If you turn them clockwise, they'll tighten down a bit and should make your hood easier to close. You shouldn't have to drop it more than once.

 

I agree with KMCC. Your manual also tell you about closing the hood. Just remember it is made of aluminum, so don't push it down.

 

This is normal. If you are having to drop it 3-4 times before it closes, try dropping it from a slightly higher height until you find the height where it closes the first time.

don't drop it, let it sit on the latch... then push the hood in as hard as you can!

... only if you have cf hood, that is...
