I rarely talk on the phone in the car. I'll let it hit VMail and I'll check it when I stop. When driving I like to drive, and enjoy it, even if that means driving to work.

From the sound of it, this isn't the right car for you. Convertibles are always going to be noisy, doesn't matter if it's this Honda or a Ferrari. If you like having an open feel, you might want to look at used NSX T's. If my G/F complained about messing up the hair and that, I'd keep a hat for her stored in the trunk, or just drive top up with her.

I ride a motorcycle so I'm used to the wind buffeting, not really a big deal to me. I mostly drop the top at night, that is when I really enjoy it. Good luck to you.

I'm not sure if I could talk on the phone with the top down (I don't like talking on the phone in the car anyways), but I have no problem listening to the STOCK radio at freeway speeds. You have to crank it up pretty far, but it's definetly listen-able.

Putting the windows up makes a difference, but I only do this when a passenger is bitching. It just doesn't seem right to be cruising around with the top up.

Don't take this the wrong way, but why have the top down if you're not going to have some kind of interface with the elements?

With the top up going 75mph, I can easily carry a conversation or listen to the radio or talk on a cell phone. It feels wrong as hell though.

It snowed last night about 1000ft above where I live... Did I put the top down this foggy freezing morning? HELL YES. And I commute about 60 miles a day.

You've got a g/f, so you can stop worrying about your hair. If she's got the right kind of hair, girls can look pretty cute with a ballcap and pony tail. Or a knit beanie. Something with a large air diffuser / deflector that pops up when the top is down may be more your speed- like a Mercedes SL or something. So much for /sports/ car though.

picturepro and co are right. the car is damn disturbing stock with windows down. something to plug the headrest holes and a higher windscreen with the windows up makes the cabin quite comfy.

having the top down is not about getting blown away. it's about being close to the elements without being CLOSE to the elements.

Personally, I'm okay with driving at any speed with the top down for up to an hour or two, but any longer than that and I put the top up.

Top down at night is the best IMO. During the day, the pussy in me comes out and dislikes the sun and heat.
