I bought my S almost 2 months ago to be a weekend car. I think I've driven my DD twice since I bought the S, and have made several unnecessary jaunts just as an excuse to drive it. haha

My S is a DD, and when I first got it w/ 4 miles on it, I put 1000 on it in 5 days. I continued to drive it way more than normal for about 1 or 2 months, then I started to natually ease off of it. Now I drive maybe 400-600mi/month.

I drive my S2000 everyday to work. It's only about a 6 mile round trip, but I always seem to find an excuse to drive it a few more miles everyday. Granted, a few miles to me might not be the same to someone that doesn't drive a S2000.

$3.50 a gallon keeps me out of the driver's seat.

^^^ Yes, I have found the gas mileage very firendly as well. I would best describe my driving as "spirited", and I usually pull 22-24MPG.

I need a very simple incentive to NOT drive the car.

Everytime I want to drive it to work, I ask myself "do you really want to sit in traffic with this car?"

does it for me everytime. weekend, good weather car only for me. I absolutely REFUSE to sit in traffic with my S.

Sounds like the problem is your other car, rnye...

My other cars are an old awd turbo sedan that is awsome when the roads are wet and fast as hell when they are dry...and my Grand Marquis de Sade that is great when I feel really lazy or its too hot to put the top down or when I have to run errands or need a trunk.

You could always get a low-buck high-mileage beater S2000 to drive to work.

i DD my S and average 200 miles EVERY weekend. this past memorial day weekend i put ~750 in her. this weekend im going to 2 autox events with one being about an hour drive away and possiblt the street races tonight. plus, some club hopping for my lil sis' bday. then theres the errands i gotta do.
i fill up twice a week. i refuse to let anything stop me from enjoying the S. not rain, not snow, not $35.00 fill ups, not 5 lbs watermelons in the trunk, not 90 degree weather.
last week my cousin joked that i was gonna die in this car.....

i have the same problem. the S is my DD, but my wife has a crv, which i'd rather put the miles on, but when its nice out, i cant resist to drive the S. we'll only take the crv if its a long trip or if we are going somewhere where the car may sit in a parking lot for awhile. i've had the car for 7 months and already have 10,400 miles. i put about 20k miles on my old 03 S2k in one year of ownership before trading it in...

this car is meant to be driven!
