Default How and How MUCH to ship MOTOR & TRANNY?

I need to ship a motor and tranny to another board member (SALT LAKE CITY to FREMONT, CA) and need to know what's the average cost, who to ship with, and how do I ship it (pallet, tie downs, etc...)

Thanks for any input!

Isn't there a maximum on the weight that one can ship via USPS or FedEx? I think you might want to consider freight.

I shipped my diff out which cost about $80 and was told that was near the max weight allowable to ship (~90 lbs).

Try this company, http://www.freightquote.com. They ship using most carriers and can give you a quote online for a number of them at the same time. I have used them and everything was great.
