Default how to keep your hat on?

I am starting to see some wisdom is wearing a hat, i have never been a hat person...how do you wear one without it flying off on the freeway? i have tried and can get maybe a mile then it goes...i have tried keeping my head down but that don't do it...yet i see lots of folks in convertibles with baseball caps on and they seem to wear them just fine???

i suppose i have a fat head or too much hair and that keeps the caps from staying on?

What is your tip? besides getting a crew cut....

I'd agree to just make it tighter? I like the flex-fit hats. They fit me fine and don't fly off on the highway. I'm not really sure about the sizeable hats. I've never had a problem though.

On a sidenote, I remember a guy on here who had a rope tied to his roll hoops in his miate and clipped it onto his hat just in case, lol.

You might also want to attach one end of a thin cord to the back of the hat and the other end through the mesh in the roll hoop to be safe. No matter how tightly you are wearing the hat, sudden wind gusts will occur.

I wear baseball caps on my boat all the time, and they can go flying if the wind hits just right. To solve the problem, I found a little cord designed specifically to prevent loss of hat in the wind...braided nylon unit with clips on either end, one for clipping to the back of the hat and the other to your collar. These can be found at West Marine or other boating supplies store.

that would defeat the purpose of wearing a hat...right?

How tall are you to have the hat fly off in a mile? My hat almost flew off the other day (PCH gusts, windows UP).

I am pretty tall, so this is a problem when going over 50 mph. If you put the pass side window up only, it seems to disrupt the flow and the hat feels less like it will fly off.
