I have been testing some used s2000s and a new one. The used ones sound pretty noisy with a lot of rattles...

How long before a new s2000 gets so noisy?

Noisy from squeaks and rattles?
That I'm not sure, but my '07 with 10k miles makes squeaking/rattling sound when it's cold out.
It's mostly engine, trans, diff and road noise that makes it noisy. Not the rattles.

verts are noisy when brand new. They become less noisy with age
as the owner does the 'fixes' over time. But squeaks and rattle will never be gone in the honda or any vert.

 

I have an 05 with almost 30k. It has very few rattles but being a vert with no insulation wind noise is going to be there and you will get some flutter when it's windy too. This car is real stiff stock so anything not fastened down in your stowage compartments will rattle, aside from that I think this car is solid. You're pretty much sitting on the powertrain so you are going to hear those sounds but those are some of the reasons the S2k is so much fun.
