Does anyone know how long the whole birthing process for an S2000 takes? There are a couple of dealers (east coast) who don't currently have cars but claim they are coming "soon". One was supposed to have been built the middle of last month, but that means little to me. I don't care when it was built, I care when it arrives.

Can't tell you the official time line but I can tell you my own experience.

I ordered the car from the dealer by phone using the credit card for a good faith down payment on June 6th. The car arrived in Salisbury, NC on August 31st. From the paperwork it appears my car made port in Seattle then made the trip across the states. Pretty much 3 months.

What I don't know is if Honda made the car from scratch or if the one I wanted was already built just waiting to be shipped. Judging by the length of time I would think it was built from scratch.

From build date to arrive at the dealer date is usually four to six weeks.

I'd assume they're all born premies. Don't think it would take 9 mos.

I picked mine up on April 7, 01 and it was built in Feb. 01. I did not order this car but just happened to be at the dealer at the right time. The car had only been there for a day or so.
