Default How long does the battery in the remote last?

I've had my S for more than 5 years now, and because it is my daily driver, I use the remote at least several times a day. As far as I can tell, there is no sign of the battery in the remote dying yet. But I want to know how long should I expect that battery to last. Would it just quit on me suddenly or would it die slowly? Anyone replaced the battery in their remotes yet?

I had my Civic for 5 years with the same type of remote and never had to change the battery either.

I use mine a lot and it's still doing fine, too. It's unnatural, I tell you, unnatural!

I've had my accord fobs for about 6 years now and have not had to change the batts. But they are gettinga a little low it seems. The little red light is a bit dim, and I have to be standing right next to the car for the trunk release to work. The good thing is it dies a slow death, and not just, "Ooops, now your gonna have to break in".

Battery life is determined mostly by number of cycles, duration of cycles, and temperature. I have seen them last for many years. People who hit the lock twice to get the confirming 'beep" obviously are consuming the batt's energy at twice the rate of the rest of us.

I see a poll on this in the future....

I just said it and went out and bought a new battery just in case a few months ago. Easy install.
