How long does it take for the engine and oil to warm up?

You are forgetting about the tranny an rear diff. By sitting there idling, your tranny will only warm up slowly (in neutral with no load) and your rear diff won't warm up at all. So, you leave the house after sitting there for 10 minutes and then think that everything is warmed up and you go ram 200 wheel HP into that rear diff while it's nearly stone cold. Not a good thing.
