I just found out from my dealer that my car was built on 12/5. He doesn't have a clue as to how long it will take to arrive and does not have a vin yet.

How long will I have to wait? Is there a chance I'll get it by year end? How long after the build date did everyone receive their car? The suspense is killing me! I've got several vacation days this year I'd love to use puttering around with the new car.

Build date: July '99; delivery date: Oct. '99.

 

IVS2K, Ouch...that's a hell of a long wait. I bet the seatbelt recall and some other factors came in to play in that long lay over.

I'm an eternal optomist, worst case scenerio I feel is mid-Jan. But man do I want the car this year! I have a funny feeling that I'll get a call that the car is in during the middle of a blizzard.

I waited about 5 weeks after build date. Good luck, I hope yours comes sooner. I believe the delivery is to California and then by rail and ultimately truck. The closer to California, the shorter the deliver time.

Congratulations Mack! It must feel like Christmas. Thanks guys,I guess it doesn't look like it will happen this year. I'll just have to stop obsessing about the car and think about something else...yea right!

 

Three weeks is possible. Four to five weeks is typical. There was a hold up of July, August, September builds (both '00 and '01) to do the seatbelt recall before delivery. Now that is no longer an issue.

Mine was built 23 August and got to the dealer about October 30th.

 

Build date May, 2000. Took it off the lot June 28... and it had been there for a week or so...

Mine was built on 11/23. My dealer called last week with the VIN. I'm expecting a mid Jan. delivery, but who knows.
