How long should tsb 54 take?
I called my dealer and asked if I could make an appointment to have tsb 54 performed on my car one week from today. The gentleman said I would have to bring my car in one week from today and they would verify the tsb needed to be performed (i.e. a 5 minute test drive?) and then I would have to come back at a later date and then they could service my car. I told them I would drop the car off at 7am because I wasn't going to leave my car at the dealership overnight...the gentleman insisted replacing the clutch would take all of one day and some of the next. The tsb lists a flat rate time of 4.8 hours. What's the deal?
Mine took about 5 days. The kit they ordered was missing parts. Once they finaly got it done, they started troubleshooting another noise they thought they heard. So really it should have only taken a day. BTW the dealer told me the clutch is hard to replace since they almost have to remove the entire engine. Don't know if that's true, but I can see it taking a while for that reason.
I don't know about the engine, but the instructions do say the transmission must be removed. Thanks for the feedback guys. It may take longer than 5, but it shouldn't take more than a day.
