I noticed it's taking some people weeks to break-in their car. I hit 600 mi within 4 days of buying my car and finally let 'er rip to 9k RPM. While I definitely felt the power, what kept me grinning was going to 9000 RPM and the engine sound. I couldn't honestly say that I liked what I heard below 5500 RPM, but no complaints from higher on up.

 

I broke mine in for about 1000 miles......and have been having fun ever since...

 

I got mine 3 weeks ago, I'm at 580 miles. In the next couple of days, I intend to progressively take it above 5500 RPM. I'll do this for 100-200 miles before I really push it hard.

This break-in period is painfully long... can't wait for it to be over. I don't remember what VTEC feels like.

 

The RSX's break-in period is also 600miles. Felt like an eternity. and i have i-VTEC so i dont even get the full VTEC feeling...its a lot quieter.
