How luxurious do you think the s2000 is?

Instead of trying to be a luxury car, the S2k attempts to be as far in the direction of a "hell for leather" sports car in the classic sense as the market will support.
In my garage, right next to my red S2k sits my red Mercedes SLK 280 with its great seven-speed automatic. A car-ignorant friend came to my house, looked in the garage, and said "why did you buy two cars just alike?" I said "how wrong you are, let's take a couple of rides."
First we drove the SLK and smoothly pulled it up to 60 in a little less than 6 seconds, and had a nice, quiet, and smooth ride. Then, we drove the S2k, and I used that great manual shifter to get us to 60 in a little more than five seconds, and then took on some "twisties." Like a motorcycle with four wheels.
My friend got an education. These two cars may LOOK a bit alike, but indeed are very little alike. The S2k in damn near a pure sports car and the SLK is a nice small grand touring car. At the end, he stated that the two cars were almost nothing alike.
Then, I showed him my true luxury car, a Mercedes sedan. We drove it and he agreed that it was as different from the other two as they were from each other.
Bottom line, the S2k is a sports car, almost purely. Just a few luxury elements have been thrown in, as they are necessary for a car to "sell" in the US these days.

In any event, things like air conditioning are luxury items on a "serious" sports car, which is why it's not standard equipment on the CR. S2000 is perfect for anyone who'd rather have a Super 7 but can't put up with such a raw sportscar.
The S2000 even feels cushy compared to a base Elise.
Basic sports car ...

Overweight substitute ...

The diffrence is the level of luxury, isn't it?
I know darn well that the luxury elements of the S2000 are the primary reason I didn't buy a Caterham or other 7 Clone back on '04.
