Just crossed 30k, with routine maintenance.

I replaced the top strikers at 24k cause the top rattled, and a couple trim pieces, and there is a bearing whine from the transmission, also had the right spindle retightened.

I get 26 mpg (about 290 mi/tank) mixed on 225/255 rubber. When I was on 215/245 I got closer to 27-28 mixed.

Im having the same problem, my top is driving me crazy it rattles a lot. I have greased it and notting.
where did you get the strikers?.
Im getting the whine noise from the transmission too, that's from what i understand the through out bearing (if it goes away when you press the clutch) (my case) if not have you changed the tranny fluid? (that helped a lot for me)

I bought mine new 5 1/2 years ago. Thus far 85,000 miles zero issues. I put a new top on this year a canvas one with rear glass. The old top was O.K. just couldn't stand looking thru cloudy plastic any longer. You will go thru a lot of rear rubber however. I'm currently on my 6th pair of rear tires. Your fronts will last better than twice as long.

p.s. I've been averaging 26 mpg consistantly since my first tank.
