Can someone explain why Comptech switched from fiberglas to urethane? What's the advantage/disadvantage of each?

Urethane is easier to work with from what I hear. The factory OEM front spoiler and rear spoilers are urethane too.

NEWS FLASH:

They are done as of today and ready to ship! 7lbs total for both side skirts.
$399 for the pair. They aren't on their site, but you can call Comptech and order right now:

Honda did it for a reason. I'd surely rather scrape on urethane than fiberglass.

I had a fiberglass kit on my car. I hit a couple of parking curbs when I first had it put on. I have not cracked it or caused any serious damage. Urethane is definately more durable and forgiving.

Urethane is better for something like side skirts, it is flexable, basically the same material as your bumpers.

Fiberglass is good for hoods, etc. things with relatively little chance of hitting anything, otherwise go Urethane.

i'd think cheaper material would be good for sideskirts...
what are the chances of hitting something on the side?

Pretty much the same if you had the side strakes. These run all the way along the bottom, but it's minimal.
