I was just wondering if anyone has any idea of how many S2000s have been made each year so far?

 

I'm not sure on a total, but there were over 9,000 sold in 2001 in the U.S. last year. There wasn't an increase in production, Honda decided to make more for the U.S. market due to the demand for them here.

 

According to an R&T article 5000 were earmarked for the US out of the 2000 model production run (which was supposed to have been 12000 units).

Well if I understand the VIN correctly mine would indicate just over 9,000 made it to the US in 2000. I ordered mine on June 6, 2000 from the dealer and received it August 31, 2000 so mine was pretty close to the end of the model year production run.

 

VIN# 9455 is still sitting in the showroom at Rick Case Honda, Euclid, OH. (Black/Black if anyone's interested....)

 

My friend bought a 2001 this week, i'll have to see what the VIN i, it's probably pretty high up there.
